Layout and perform the work required to instrument and prepare subassemblies, components CSAs and powerplants for testing.
Responsible for accurate and complete full-scale instrumentation and testing of fuel cell products, components, CSAs, and powerplants.
Operate test stands as required, and assist others in testing and data compilation. Work with Test Engineers, supervision and leads to follow test specifications for successful testing of all products tested.
The Tester must be extremely diligent and safety conscious when working with 480-volt systems and related electrical equipment.
Under steady-state operating conditions, deploy full scrutiny and continuous visual attention to monitor tests and asses results to determine and evaluate findings. Review results with test Engineering and supervision to support determination of next steps. Next steps may include modification of tested units/components, test specifications, process modifications, retesting, reassurance of full quality compliance, and preparation for storage or shipment.
Make recommendations for test processes and related product and systems improvements/efficiencies. Actively participate in process improvement teams, properly maintain tools and equipment, and maintain a safe, clean and comfortable work environment. May be assigned to fabrication of components and modules as part of production process, and with consideration to production and test requirements.
Record, complete and track all required data compilations and test documentation.
Support electro-mechanical troubleshooting of product and test equipment.
Perform work to set-up and operate the gantry crane and straddle carriers to secure, transport and position large modules, major assemblies and powerplants.
Solid understanding of electro-mechanical systems and experience with high and low voltage electrical systems.
Work with test and manufacturing engineering and other production personnel to assure quality test results and to seek improved testing processes.
Learn to utilize, and then apply proactive systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating and resolving quality issues, supporting continuous improvement as a top priority.
Education & Qualification
High School diploma or equivalent. Trades training certificate or electro-mechanical certification preferred. 2+ years of experience with electro-mechanical systems and with high and low voltage electrical systems.
Work experience in a factory/manufacturing environment helpful
May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, certifications, and specialized training.
Computer usage and systems experience required.
