The Pittsfield Public Schools have an outstanding opportunity for an innovative, entrepreneurial HR practitioner who is energized by the idea of using their skills to support the critical mission of the school system. As a member of the Superintendent’s cabinet, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to bring their strategic thinking and tactical execution skills to bear on the HR operations for the school system, with the goal of building strong employee engagement and development while bringing new efficiencies and best practices to all aspects of human resources functions within the district.




Duties include: full-cycle talent acquisition; professional development and performance management for teachers and staff; leadership of employee morale and workplace culture initiatives; labor relations; and oversight of employment law, compliance and benefits administration.

Required Qualifications :

The successful candidate will have 10+ years of progressively responsible human resources experience with labor relations background required, preferably in an educational setting;  proven track record of successful recruitment and retention of employees, impactful continuous improvement initiatives and compliance with employment law.  Commitment to/knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion best practices and knowledge of the state and federal employment law are also critical skills. Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree, HR certification (SHRM or PHR/SPHR) and bilingual skills preferred.
