Volunteer Manager - Advancement Office

Full-time Opening


This is a new position within Advancement responsible for developing and managing strategic volunteer engagement to help achieve NMH Advancement goals in engagement and giving with both parents and alumni. The Volunteer Manager is responsible for liaising with and coordinating NMH’s robust and diverse alumni and parent volunteer network, including reunion volunteers, regional volunteers, class secretaries, class committees, and parent volunteers. The Volunteer Manager will work closely with others within the department to sustain, strengthen and manage volunteer entities’ relationships with the school while aligning volunteer skills and interests with Advancement goals. The Volunteer Manager will serve as the primary contact for the majority of Advancement volunteers and, with the Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement, will co-create a vision, scale, and framework for an effective volunteer management system.


The successful applicant will have 5+ years’ experience in client services, account management, customer service management, nonprofit management, or volunteer management. Experience in philanthropy, advancement, engagement, alumni and parent relations settings preferred and work experience in an educational setting is beneficial. Candidates should be positive, ambitious, organized and energetic. This position requires discretion and professionalism in dealing with sensitive and confidential information. The ideal candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, able to work on multiple projects, creative and flexible. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google products preferred and experience with Raiser’s Edge or comparable fundraising software is highly desired. Additional qualifications include the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently. Some weekend and evening work required, as well as a willingness to travel on occasion.
