Project Manager / Estimator
The Project Manager/Estimator will manage the day to day field operations/projects from the quoting process thru job completion, including visiting the site, collecting data and measurements, preparing quotes that will include labor, material and equipment, preparing work orders, the assignment of personnel, materials and equipment and the supervision of the projects to insure timely completion and quality work at the lowest possible costs to the customer and a profit margin as defined by management. This position requires daily communication with internal management, clients and crews to ensure competitive advantage in bidding through successful project completion. This position provides project estimation leadership, management and oversight. This position entails estimating and managing projects ranging in size from $1000 to $1M.
This position will have a thorough understanding of the OSHA regulations and guidelines and the ability to communicate safety requirements on the jobsite.
Collection of information and data to determine the scope of work and assure proper estimating of time and equipment to complete projects that vary in scope from machinery installation to millwright service to the installation of concrete pads and foundations and structural steel installation. Design methods and plan to complete the project. Such design may include the determination of methods used for difficult rigging projects and the design of tools and equipment required to implement the method, and to provide a detail estimate for the project that utilizes the skills of the crews, our equipment and the requirements and needs of the customer.
Working with the Team Leaders to assure the understanding of the method and the size and scope of the project and the need to bring the project in – on time and on budget. Working with the team leaders and crew to determine any and all out of scope work.
Effectively manage multiple projects from inception through completion.
Serving as the liaison with the customers of CIC, providing advice and consultations on major and minor projects.
Securing all required equipment, materials and labor for contracted jobs, scheduling personnel, equipment and materials for same. Working within the policies and procedures set forth at CIC, including the use of time cards, purchase order and requisitions.
Working with company Team Leaders, supervising the completion of jobs in a timely manner, at the company's level of quality standards at the lowest possible costs to the company.
Provide information and knowledge to the labor force on safety issues, OSHA Regulations, etc.
Assuring quality control standards on all jobs.
Working in cooperation with the Business Manager in overseeing the inventory of customer’s equipment in storage.
Working with the Operations Manager and the CEO on the building and yard maintenance.
Receiving equipment at our facility, including the skills to offload from a truck and set in the building.
This is a salaried (exempt) position. Hours 6am to 4 pm with some weekend and night work required.

TRAITS and REQUIREMENTS
Ability to be trained as an estimator, with management experience of 5 years in the industry.
Ability and experience to complete a Lift and/or Rigging plan for the crews to assure understanding of the method to approach the project, the size of the project and the scope of work quoted for the project.
Must demonstrate expertise in construction skills, rigging, safety and general industry knowledge.
Must have ability to balance workloads and multitask.
Proven ability to conduct a thorough evaluation of incoming scopes of work.
Must have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Must have excellent leadership skills
Must be a team player
Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects from inception through completion. Ability to work under pressure. Strong Communication skills.
Knowledge of computer software, such as Office Suite, experience in a project management software a plus
OHSA 30 Certification or ability to obtain in 90 days; MA Hoisting License for the ability to obtain in 90 days;
Ma Construction Supervises License or the ability to obtain in 12 months.
CDL Class A License a plus
Hands-on experience as a rigging specialist in the manufacturing industry, in the installation of production machines, metal fabrication, concrete technology and heavy equipment operation
An understanding of the concept of team management and the ability and experience of working as a member of a management team.
Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization, sharing knowledge and experience for the success of the organization.
Experience with OSHA guidelines and procedures
Experience as an estimator in the industrial contracting industry with a specific focus on the installation of production machinery.
Through understanding of the importance of job and site safety and the ability to communicate that knowledge.
Understanding of financial and fiscal manners and constraints.
