Machine Operator/Assembler (2nd Shift)
Salary - $14.00 - $15.00 (DOE)
Shift - 2nd
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Some duties may be split up between each machine, while other duties may be assigned as dictated by business need:
o Stage rolls for either line and bring outside rolls into production room.
o Read work order, fill out material request form and verify that material is correct.
o Prep and load rolls
o Run product at maximum efficiency.
o Understand machine controls and capabilities.
o Insert interleafs where required.
o Spread and cut material. Operate and clean knives.
o Identify non-conformances, address or notify manager.
o Label and load WIP blocks onto pallet. Bring pallet to WIP storage area.
o Help material handler by setting up WIP for guillotine operators when needed.
o Recommend ways to reduce WIP by combining runs or working off partial rolls.
o Perform daily cleaning and weekly vacuuming of line.
o Participate in preventive maintenance.
o Keep partial roll inventory organized.
o Bring old cores out of room and load into recycling containers.
o Roll and compress scrap material and pack into cases daily.
o X-Train on both wheels.
o X-Train on several other jobs.
o End of day routine should include an inspection of entire floor leaving everything ready for lines to start up immediately the next day, floors swept, tools and papers put in their place, machine surfaces clean, material covered.
o Recommend improvements in floor layouts or handling procedures, point out potential problems to management.
o Communicate with operators, material handlers and management as necessary.
o Manage priorities appropriately
