Florence Bank is currently seeking a Controller in our Main Office.
Under the direction of the Treasurer, the Controller manages all accounting and financial reporting functions of the bank and related subsidiaries.
Responsibilities include the oversight, integrity, and maintenance of general ledger, fixed assets, investment, accounts payable and general accounting functions. The Controller manages the daily funding of Federal Reserve and correspondent banks; reconciles or reviews reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts; provides asset/liability management reports to management and consultant, participates in ALCO meetings and produces minutes, maintains ALM records, implements and tracks ALM strategies; reviews investment reports, researches and resolves differences and analyzes investment yield anomalies; prepares or manages preparation of all financial reports for management, directors, external auditors and government agencies; maintains and produces custom reports through the general ledger and data center systems; maintains and implements procedures; implements, monitors and documents internal controls; takes steps as needed to comply with changes to accounting regulations; maintains records for all income, backup withholding and use tax; manages, assists and develops accounting staff; performs any tasks of finance department staff as needed; prepares annual budget and produces related reports; provides customer service to internal customers through error resolution, education, communication, and processes changes as needed.

The following skills, experience or background are necessary for this position:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; a minimum of five years’ experience in Accounting, including two years in banking; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred; demonstrated strong analytical skills; strong communication skills, both oral and written; prior management and demonstrated leadership experience (minimum of 2 years); basic knowledge of asset/liability management concepts; experience with and general knowledge of computer systems, especially in the areas of accounting systems and spreadsheets; knowledge of consolidated financial reporting; ability to work independently.
